Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) is a further education college in Basingstoke, Hampshire, United Kingdom. The college is located on Worting Road with three campus buildings: North, South, and STEM. The college is listed as a Centre of Vocational Excellence[2] in certain areas. The STEM Academy houses Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. In June 2013, BCoT was awarded Good with Outstanding Features by Ofsted. Their inspection ranked all areas of the college at grade 2 (Good) while Hospitality received a Grade 1 (Outstanding) for their level of teaching and its restaurant.

There are many courses to choose from at BCoT, from full-time to part-time, day courses to evening courses. The courses are broken down into each industry area which are:

College Facilities

The college operates an in-house catering outlet known as Taste @ BCoT, who also operate a Servery & Refectory on the South Campus and a Cafe on the North Campus.

There is an on site Job Shop to help the students with finding a job within their chosen industry that is also related to their chosen course, the job shop also help students out with writing a CV and practicing their employability and interview skills. The One Stop Shop is there for all students needs mainly helping in travel costs and financial support

Learners with an identified learning difficulty or disability can access facilities and staff based in the Support Shop, on the North Site. They have an area where learners can work on strategies to build independence on their course, equipment that can be loaned and Learning Coach staff that provide in-class support. Arrangements for exams are organised and updated here.

The college runs a salon throughout the week, Evolve Salon run by the Hair & Beauty Department offering may kinds of treatment

BCoT also have a nursery which is run by the Childcare department staff and enables childcare students to interact and get involved with the babies, toddlers and children that come to the nursery, the nursery is open throughout the week.

The College Renovation & Rebrand


In 2010, the college spent £3 million in renovating the South & Tech campuses, the Tech campus was the key focus in the renovation as it was outdated from being BCoT's first building when the college first opened. the renovation includes a brand new automotive garage and showroom, an engineering warehouse and several science labs and animal care rooms. The tech campus is now known as the STEM Academy . The front of the South Campus has been given a fresh new look as well.

The Restaurant at BCoT

In July 2012, the college invested in renovating the Hospitality & Catering department, £110.000 was spent on re-creating the colleges training restaurant, The Restaurant at BCoT, all of the furniture has been replaced, a new floor has been laid replacing the previous carpet, the licensed bar has new furniture as well. The training kitchens and the restaurant's production kitchen has been renovated and now has industry standard equipment installed to enhance the students learning within the industry.
