The chorus performs different genres of music, including classical, folk, jazz, and pop music. The chorus' mission is to challenge preconceptions about music and society. It serves not only as a chorus, but also as a social network. [5]

Recent history

The chorus was founded in October 2008 as the Shining Jazzy Chorus.[6] Every year, they perform an annual anniversary concert.[7][8][9][10][11] In June, 2013, they performed with Seattle Men's Chorus assistant director, Eric Lane Barnes.[12] The following month of that year, they met with Gary Locke.[13] In April, 2014, they changed their name to the Beijing Queer Chorus.[6] In JUL, 2016, they attend the GALA choruses festival in Denver, U.S. [14] [15]
