Brazil–Pakistan relations refers to bilateral relations between Brazil and Pakistan. Brazil maintains an embassy in Islamabad and Pakistan maintains an embassy in Brasília.

In 2009, Brazil approved the sale of 100 MAR-1 anti-radiation missiles to Pakistan despite India's pressure on Brazil not to do so.[1]

Brazil's Defense Minister Nelson Jobim called these missiles "very effective ways to monitor" areas flown by war planes, and said the deal with Pakistan was worth 85 million euros (167.6 million dollars). He dismissed protests by India. "Brazil negotiates with Pakistan, not with terrorists," Mr Jobim said. "To cancel this deal would be to attribute terrorist activities to the Pakistani Government."[2]

At the United Nations, India found itself in the dock at a meeting of the Inter-governmental Negotiations on Security Council reform when Pakistan and other delegates demanded some rationale for its bid. Brazil, Germany and Japan also supported Pakistan's stance for permanent membership of the fifteen members body. [3]

In November 2015 Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif was awarded Brazil's coveted 'Order of Merit' award in a ceremony held in Brazil.General Raheel Sharif is also the first Asian to have received the award.The chief of army staff was given the award in recognition of his leadership in the fight against terrorism and other threats. Brazil Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Brazil Gen José Carlos de Nardi, who hailed the Pakistan Army's professionalism and operational achievements especially in ongoing counter-terrorism operations.During the meeting the security assistance for Brazil Olympics 2016 was discussed and also To benefit from each other's anti Narcotic experience.

Brazil favoured Pakistan's call for self-determination right to Kashmiris because this could help resolve longstanding Indo-Pak conflict justly and permanently. Talking to Pakistani Prime Minister at the Prime Minister's House, Brazilian foreign minister Slive Emon said Kashmiris must be given their birth right to self determine their fate.

"Kashmiris are the prime party to the conflict. And we believe the United Nations' resolutions promise a sustainable solution to the Kashmir conflict in line with the wishes of Kashmiri people." He also praised Pakistan for its contribution for anti-terror campaign.

Bilateral trade agreement between Pakistan and Brazil is in operation since 1982. Brazil is interested to improve trade volume with Pakistan. Both countries have been negotiating for setting up of a Pak-Brazil Chamber of Commerce.[4]

Brazil supports in development of Pakistan’s agriculture sector. Brazil having advanced agriculture technologies is helping Pakistan to develop its agriculture sector.[5] [6][7]

“K2 and the Invisible Footmen” The documentary, centered on the life of high altitude porters who help mountain climbers scale the world’s second highest mountain – K2, is made by Brazilian director, Iara Lee. She fell in love with the northern regions of Pakistan when she made an earlier short film about the Kalash tribe.

Pakistani students that are finishing their college can apply for an opportunity of having their University studies done in Brazil, with tuition costs covered by the Brazilian Government, through the Program for Exchange Students – Undergraduate (PEC-G). This Program has been in place since 2012. [8]

Brazil is one of football leading team in the world. Pakistan-made Brazuca soccer ball was used in 2014 Football world cup. Die-hard Pakistani Football Fans Supported Brazilian Soccer Team in World Cup 2014.[9]
