Champion is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in central Chase County, Nebraska, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 103.[1] Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 69023.[2]
Geography
Champion lies in the valley of Frenchman Creek, a tributary of the Republican River, near the Champion Mill Park, 7 miles (11 km) southwest of the city of Imperial, the county seat of Chase County.[3] Its elevation is 3,271 feet (997 m) above sea level.[4]
History
Champion was named for Champion S. Chase, a Nebraska politician.[5]
