Edgar Baumann
Edgar Andres Baumann Dure (born April 16, 1970) Baumann is the Record holder in the Javelin which was set at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina Descendant of a German Family Native of the country of Paraguay, He was Born in San Lorenzo Paraguay, Baumann was the first South American athlete who had thrown over 70 meters in Paraguay, and 80 meters in the javelin en South America, with a toss of (80.56 meters in 1996) male javelin thrower from Paraguay, was ranked 6th in the world in 1996. He represented his native country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA and at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He set his personal best (84.70 meters) on October 10, 1999 at a meet in San Marcos, Texas, setting a South American record. In the year 2000 he established a lawsuit against the National Olympic Committee, because he was left out from the Sydney Olympics without any justification. In 2009 he was awarded 6 billions (PYG) (1.190.476 (USD) currency exchange at the time) by the Supreme Court of Paraguay.[1]
