Geração Brasil (stylized as G3R4Ç4O BR4S1L; English title Now Generation) is a 2014 Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by Rede Globo.
It was created by Filipe Miguez and Izabel de Oliveira and starred Murilo Benício, Cláudia Abreu, Chandelly Braz, Humberto Carrão, Taís Araújo, Isabelle Drummond, Ricardo Tozzi, Luís Miranda, Lázaro Ramos and Renata Sorrah.[3] The telenovela plotline discusses technology policy issues, such as open source software, drones and coding and part of the education system. The authors worked with consultants Ronaldo Lemos and Hermano Vianna to depict accurately the underlining policy debates.[4]
Plot
Let the legendary Silicon Valley, California, to meet Jonas Marra (Murilo Benício). Computer genius and business, left Brazil very young in search of investments for his invention: the "Bro", low cost computer that, in the 80s, revolutionized the market of global computer. In the United States of America, the land of opportunity, Jonas, with his undeniable intelligence and business acumen, created the Marra Corporation, a technology company that in two years it was reference worldwide. To marry Pamela Parker (Claudia Abreu), darling of America and heir to the largest TV channel in the country, Jonas Marra reached the pinnacle of success. The Parker-Marra then turned the couple 20 of the United States. But they work hard to keep his daughter, "princess" Megan (Isabelle Drummond), out of trouble. Give the youth adventures, the girl lives stamping the journals on controversial matters. As emblematic as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, the throne of Jonas Marra had never been questioned. Until one day, pointing to the need to oxygenate the market with someone younger, the Marra's shareholders resolve suggest your retirement. Irreducible, Jonas, from the top of its 42 years of expertise, sets up a radical move and announces a bombastic decision: will transfer the seat of Marra to Brazil. The decision is headline news from around the world. All the inspiration for the invention comes from Plugging, NGO dedicated to the digital inclusion of disadvantaged children, located in Gambiarra, district of Rio's West Zone. Plugging in David had his first contact with a computer, finding himself a self-taught computer. Since then, changed the chair by the table and teaching children the "ba-bê will" programming, which have hardly opportunity without first Herval, founder of the NGO. In Recife, in search of so-called "angels," David puts the "Junior" in the backpack and grab the chance to show it off to investors. On arrival at the "Digital Reef" Davi know Manu (Chandelly Braz), beautiful Recife, beast in computer and games. It is the world of games that the two will be closer than you think. Behind their avatars and nicknames, be impressed with the opponent's skills, not realizing who is on the other side of the screen. The two will be very close when they are selected to participate in the Marra Brazil contest. With over 12 young people, Davi and Manu will by several technological challenges, having to prove their capabilities Jonas.
