Hangzhou International School (杭州 国际 学校 háng-zhōu guó-jì xué-xiào) is a Nursery through 12th grade institution serving the local expat population in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. The school campus, located adjacent to the highly respected Hangzhou Number Two Middle School, is fully equipped and staffed to offer a comprehensive international program. The curriculum, taught in English and specifically designed for international students of over 40 nationalities, benefits from the cooperation of its sister schools of the International School Development Foundation (ISDF) and Shanghai Community International School, who work together to standardize resources and programming. The HIS curriculum delivery method is supported by authorizations in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), and the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC).

History

Hangzhou International School was founded in 2002 as a sister school to the Shanghai Community International School.[1] It had an initial enrollment of 15 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4 and currently serves over 500 students in Nursery through 12th grade. HIS had its first graduating class in 2007 of 3 students and is now serving over 20 students in each high school grade level. Graduates have gained acceptance to prestigious national universities throughout the world.

School Facilities

Hangzhou International School is a fully equipped school with two rubber soccer fields spread across the school ground, a children's playground, several 4-story learning buildings, maker's space, visual and performing arts spaces, a blue top basketball court, and an indoor gym with fully equipped changing rooms, dance room and fitness center.
