Jackson Square is a rapid transit station on the MBTA Orange Line, located at the intersection of Centre Street and Columbus Avenue in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.
History
The station opened in 1987 along with the rest of the southern Orange Line stations. In 2004, a project took place that provided the station with murals as well as better lighting and new sidewalks to replace broken ones after a spree of violent crimes near the station. The improvements were designed to reduce criminal activity as well as provide a more welcoming atmosphere for transit riders.[3][4]
