Hjörtur Hermannsson (born 8 February 1995) is an Icelandic professional footballer who currently plays for Brøndby IF as a centre back.
Club career
Fylkir
Hjörtur played 12 games for Fylkir in the Icelandic top division, before signing a three-year deal with PSV in 2012.
PSV
He made his professional debut as Jong PSV player in the Eerste Divisie on 18 August 2013 against FC Oss in a 4–0 home win. He replaced Jorrit Hendrix after 61 minutes. He made 25 league appearances during the 2013/14 season.[1]
IFK Göteborg
On 16 February 2016, Hermannsson was loaned out to Allsvenskan club IFK Göteborg.[2]
International career
Hjörtur got his first call up to the senior Iceland squad for friendlies against Poland and Slovakia in November 2015.[3] He was selected for UEFA Euro 2016.[4]
