Koratala Siva is an Indian film director, and screenwriter known for his works exclusively in Telugu cinema.[1] In 2013, He made his directorial debut with the super-hit Mirchi. In 2015, he directed Srimanthudu which was opened to positive critical reception and was a commercial success, grossing nearly 2.0 billion globally, and becoming the second highest grossing Telugu film of all time, and has received three Filmfare Awards South, six IIFA Awards, and six SIIMA Awards. He then directed another blockbuster Janatha Garage which grossed an estimated 135 crore till September 2016. It earned a distributor's share amount of 60 crore in its first week of release.[2][3]

Early life and cinema

Starting his career as a software engineer, Siva worked as a screenwriting assistant to his cousin Posani Krishna Murali.[4] Subsequently, he ventured into cinema as a Dialogue writer for films such as Okkadunnadu, Munna, Brindavanam, and Oosaravelli.[5]
