The park contains Montauk Spring and its associated fish hatchery and is noted for its rainbow and brown trout angling. It includes 1,396 acres (565 ha) and was acquired in 1926.[3] The park has several different natural springs with a daily average flow of 53 million gallons of water.

Activities and amenities

Missouri trout park season is Mar 1 to Oct 31. The park's fishing area is divided into three zones, each with its own set of regulations.[4] The park has its own hatchery as well as a store, cabins, motel rooms, and camping area. In addition there are three trails for hikers and bicyclists.[3]

The Montauk mill is available for tour. The original mill was built in 1870, and the current standing mill was built in 1893. The mill ceased operations in 1927.[5]
