Nationality law of Afghanistan
The nationality law in Afghanistan follows the jus soli rule. It allows people to become citizens of Afghanistan regardless of ethnicity, gender or religion. There have been controversial proposals about using the jus sanguinis law on Pashtun people outside of Afghanistan.

Dual citizenship is prohibited in Afghanistan.
