Nawadih is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Bermo subdivision of Bokaro district, Jharkhand state, India. It is located 25 km from Bokaro Steel City.
Overview
Nawadih village is situated on Bokaro to Giridih route. Nawadih village is agriculture based and has Sadanira little river. Main occupation of the villagers are labouring and engaged in factory and mines, agriculture and shops. This village has Block, Thana (police station), two high schools (boys & girls). For the first time in history, one lady has been elected as Mukhia (head of village) of Nawadih village during the year 2010-15. Village is in progressive mode. Smt. Kiran Devi Burnwal is Head person (Mukhiya) of Nawadih. She is the honest Mukhiya and known for her works and ability.
2. People of this village are very conscious and actively participated in politics. A lot of villagers are working in Central Government as officers.

Nawadih CD Block is spread over an area of 371.8 km2. and has 24 panchayats and 69 villages.[2]
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Nawadih CD Block had a total population of 138,454, of which 133,848 were rural and 4,606 were urban. There were 70,344 males and 68,110 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 18,476 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 17,345. Population below 6 years was 22,236.[3]
Bhandra, with a population of 4,606 in 2011, is a census town in Nawadih CD Block.[3]
Hindi is the local language in the Nawadih area.[4]
Literacy
As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Nawadih CD Block was 72,697 (62.55% of the population above 6 years) out of which 44,343 were males and 28,354 were females.[3]
