Pandamaran
Pandamaran (Chinese: 班达马兰) is a place in the Klang district in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It is located near to Port Klang, the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital and also Bandar Bukit Tinggi. Pandamaran is essentially a Chinese New Village area, but it is served by excellent road connections and is one of the major industrial zones in the royal town of Klang.
The Pandamaran New Village (Kampung Baru Pandamaran) was built in 1950 after the Malayan Emergency. The British colony needed to destroy the communism influence and thus gathered all of the Chinese residents, where many of local residents came from Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor.
Today, there's a 3-star hotel, sports complex, hockey stadium, clinics, children playgrounds, public swimming pool and a police station in Pandamaran. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Klang Municipal Council (MPK).[1]
Pandamaran is represented in the Parliament by the Member of Parliament for Klang, Mr. Charles Santiago. In the State Assembly of Selangor, the township is represented by Mr. Eric Tan Pok Shyong , the state assemblyman for Pandamaran. The Local councillor MPK is Mr. Lee Fu Haw.
