Putra Heights is a residential township in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located within the Mukim (sub-district) of Damansara. The township is visible by the tall and famous Bukit Cermin in Putra Heights.

Location, Area Description and Demographic

Putra Heights is a 727 hectares township developed by Sime UEP Properties in 1999. There is a hill located in the heart of the township, namely Bukit Cermin which has earned its reputation as one of the most famous cycling hills in the Klang Valley.

Putra Point Commercial Center and Giant Putra Heights are the only commercial developments that have many amenities to serve the residents of Putra Heights. The latest commercial development in the area is Main Place in USJ 21. There are more shopping options in adjacent townships like USJ and Puchong.

Upscale neighbourhoods

The township is home to three prestigious neighborhoods, namely Putra Palms, The Glades and Kingsley Hills. These neighborhoods include a range of houses from luxurious high-rise condominiums to low-density villas, link houses, semi-detached and bungalows. All of them are integrated with gated and guarded 24-hour security.

Education

In the township, there is an international school, Kingsley International School, a Chinese government school SRJK (C) Tun Tan Siew Sin, and Sekolah Menengah USJ 23. In adjacent township USJ, there is a wide variety of schools ranging from primary up to tertiary level.

Accessibility

The township is accessible via many major expressways and roads. The expressway that passes directly through the township is North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE). The interchange at ELITE was opened to traffic on 19 February 2009, as the main route to Putra Heights. Other major expressways which connects through the ELITE expressway are the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), SKVE and Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS).

It will be connected by the 2 proposed LRT extensions (Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line) scheduled to be completed in 2015. The Putra Heights LRT station on Rapid KL's Kelana Jaya Line and Ampang Line is located at Persiaran Putra Indah near Putra Point Commercial Centre. The 2 proposed LRT extension lines are the Kelana Jaya LRT extension line and the Ampang LRT extension line. The Kelana Jaya Line will be extended from the existing route from the Subang LRT Depot, running through the Dana 1 commercial centre in Kelana Jaya, to Kelana Centre Point, then to Subang Parade at Subang Jaya City Centre (interfaced with KTM Subang Jaya Komuter station), to Subang Jaya (3 stations), then to The Summit Shopping Mall at USJ 1, to USJ 9 near the Al Falakh Mosque and the USJ headquarter police station (USJ 8), then will be connected to USJ 19. The main station hub is located at Putra Heights, which will eventually connect with the Ampang Line to Sri Petaling.
