Psalm 24
On a day other than Shabbat, when the Torah is being carried back to the ark, Psalm 24 is recited
Psalms 24 is the 24th Psalm from the Book of Psalms. The opening line is "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein".

Judaism
- Is the psalm of the day in the Shir Shel Yom for Sunday.[1]
- Except for the Shabbat morning service, it is recited when returning the Torah Scroll to the ark.[2]
- Verse 1 is part of Mishnah Tamid 7:4.[3]
- Verses 7-10 are found in the Mussaf Amidah on Rosh Hashanah.[4][5]
Catholic
In the Middle Ages, this psalm was performed weekly, according to the Rule of St. Benedict, established in 530AD. As St. Benedict of Nursia attributed Psalm 24 to be sung or recited in the celebration of matins dimanche[6][7]
The Psalm 24 is today used in the Liturgy of the Hours. It is found particularly in the Lauds of Tuesday of the first semaine[8] and the Office of Sunday readings of the fourth week.
