Spassky District (Russian: Спа́сский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 706.6 square kilometers (272.8 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Spasskoye.[1] Population: 10,998 (2010 Census);[3] 13,533(2002 Census);[6] 16,204(1989 Census).[7] The population of Spasskoye accounts for 35.9% of the district's total population.[3]

The district was established in 1929.[1]
