Tanaboon Kesarat (Thai: ธนบูรณ์ เกษารัตน์) born 21 September 1993, simply known as Tum (Thai: ตั้ม) is a Thai professional footballer who plays as Defensive midfielder or Centre back for Thai League club Chiangrai United and the Thailand national team. Tanaboon is nicknamed by fans as the "Thai Busquets"[1]

Club career

BEC Tero Sasana

In 2012, Tanaboon Kesarat who was graduated from Bangkok Sport School joined BEC Tero Sasana. The 18-year-old became the vital part of the club in 2013 Thai Premier League. In 2014,Tanaboon and his teammates helped the club to win 2014 Thai League Cup, the club first trophy in 12 years.

Muangthong United

On 27 January 2016 it was announced that Tanaboon along with his BEC Tero teammates Peerapat Notchaiya and Chanathip Songkrasin would be joining Muangthong United on loan for the 2016 season.[2] He and his companions later joined Muangthong on the permanent deals.

Chiangrai United

On 2 November 2016, Chiangrai United F.C. made the official announcement that the club has completed and agreement with Muangthong United to sign Tanaboon Kesarat. The transfer fee is undisclosed but estimated to be around 50 million Baht.[3]Tanaboon has become the most expensive Thai player, broke the record of Theerathon Bunmathan who joined Muangthong United from Buriram United F.C. in May of 2016 with the transfer fee of 35 million Baht. International career

Tanaboon Kesarat played for Thailand U19 in the 2012 AFC U-19 Championship qualification. His performances during the tournament caught the eye of Andrew Ord who was building an exciting side at BEC Tero Sasana with other youngsters like Chanathip Songkrasin. In 2013, he was selected for Thailand's first team squad, and came in as a substitute in a 5-1 victory over China on 15 June.[5] He represented Thailand U23 in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games. He also represented Thailand U23 in the 2014 Asian Games. Tanaboon was part of Thailand's winning squad in the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup. During the last group stage game against Myanmar Tanaboon scored the first goal of a 2-0 win with a stunning strike from out side the area.[6] In May 2015, he was called up by Thailand to play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) against Vietnam. He won the 2015 Southeast Asian Games with Thailand U23.
