It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Jadavpur (Vidhan Sabha constituency).^[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Jadavpur Station Road is in the north. Eastern Metropolitan Bypass and Sealdah South lines of Eastern Railway are in the east. Baghajatin Station Road is in the south. Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick Road is in the west.^[2]
