Ward No. 31, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 3, covering parts of Kankurgachi and Bagmari neighbourhoods in north Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Maniktala (Vidhan Sabha constituency).^[1]

Overview

The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Satin Sen Sarani (earlier part of Manicktala Main Road) is to the north. Eastern Metropolitan Bypass is to the east. Narkeldanga Main Road, C.I.T. Road and Upendra Chandra Banerjee road are to the south. C.I.T. Road and Upendra Chandra Banerjee Road are to the west.^[2][3]

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Ward No. 31, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, had a total population of 39,025, of which 20,995 (54%) were males and 18,030 (46%) were females. Population below 6 years was 3,186. The total number of literates in Ward No. 31 was 31,638 (88.28% of the population over 6 years).^[4]
