Products

Yureka

The first mobile under the brand name of "YU" running on Cyanogen OS is named 'YUreka'. It was designed by the chief engineer Ayush Kumar and since it was an affordable but powerful mobile phone, it got a good sales response from customers. Recently, updates of CyanogenMod 12.1 were released. It was launched under the tagline 'YU Play God'. YU's Yureka 4G LTE is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC alongside 2GB DDR3 RAM.[3] It has a MSM8939 LTE Chipset and integrated Adreno 405 GPU @550Mhz. YUreka was launched with Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android Lollipop 5.0.2, which allows users to customize their phone. However, it has now been discontinued on the Amazon website.[4]

YU announced the YUreka Plus later on Q1 2015. The YUreka Plus features an improved 13MP Camera and a 1080p Full HD display. It runs on CyanogenMod 12.0.

Yuphoria

YU announced their new Phone "YUphoria" which had almost the same specifications as its predecessor YUreka except for the Camera and Processor Clock. It comes with 2GB RAM 16GB ROM 5 inch screen with Gorilla Glass 3, and it was launched on 12 May 2015. It has a rear camera of 8MP and front of 5MP [5] YU YUphoria with Android Lollipop 5.0.2 based Cyanogen OS 12 launched in India.[6]

YUfit

Apart from launching the YU YUphoria handset, Micromax subsidiary YU Tele ventures also launched the YUFit fitness tracking band. The company also unveiled another health-centric accessory called the HealthYU.

Users will also be able to share their HealthYu readings with their doctor or family. The cassette is said to be small enough to fit in the user's pocket, and can provide several readings on a single charge.[7]

YUpix

YUPix is a portable mobile printer with a cartridge unit that includes ink along with 20 print sheets which are easily replaceable.[8]

jYUice

jYUice is a power bank from YU, with the capacity of 5000mAh and 10000mAh. The power banks consists of an Anodized Aluminum Shell which houses a Lithium-Polymer battery with single 5V/2.1A USB port for 5,000 mAh while the larger model has a 5V/1A and a 5V/2.4A USB ports for charging devices. A multi-colored LED light is also present to indicate the power status.[9]

YUtopia

Yutopia is the first premium flagship device from YU which was launched on 17 December 2015.[10] The device gained massive online popularity when it's specifications were leaked on Geekbench and Antutu.[11] After the launch of Yunique, YU started an online campaign teasing the launch of Yutopia and at the same time taking digs at companies like OnePlus, Apple, Samsung for their inferior specifications. The device was finally launched on 17 December with Snapdragon 810, 5.2 inch 2K Screen(WQHD), 4 GB RAM, 32GB ROM and 3000 mAh battery with QuickCharge and Fingerprint sensor.[12] The device went on pre-order on the same day on Amazon India.

YUnicorn

Yunicorn is the latest device from YU that was launched on 31 May 2016. The device is powered by Helio P10 MediaTek 1.8Ghz octa-core, 64-bit chipset which is paired with 4 GB of RAM. Other specifications include 5.5-inch full HD IPS display, 32 GB ROM, 4,000 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor. There is a 13 MP rear camera on the back and a 5 MP camera on the front of the YU Yunicorn.

Service

According to Micromax, "YU has adopted a new way of providing the after sale services i.e. they are offering door to door support (Onsite) which implies that the users would have to just contact the YU customer staff and a technical expert would visit them at their home to take up the device once the issue has been confirmed."[13] Customers may also choose to visit an “Authorized Service Location”.[14]

The company soon released Yunique with stock Android and two existing phones, Yureka Plus and Yuphoria with stock Android.[15][16] This made peoples believe that YU and Cyanogen are soon going to split, however, soon Cyanogen denied the rumors with their Facebook post and also said that YU's next smartphone- Yutopia is going to powered by Cyanogen OS, probably Cyanogen OS 12.1.[17]
