Administrative Affairs Committee (Georgia Senate)
The Senate Administrative Affairs Committee is a six-member legislative body consisting of the chairman and five members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to regulate all matters pertinent to the employing of all aides, secretaries, and other personnel for the Senate.[1]
Scope and jurisdiction
The Senate Administrative Affairs Committee is responsible for supervising the personnel under its charge and for apportioning their discipline; on the Senate's behalf. The Committee's jurisdiction includes the offices of Senate Budget and Evaluation, Senate Press, and Senate Research. The Committee also sets the pay and compensation for these personnel.[1]
The Senate Administrative Affairs Committee is also responsible for supervising "the purchasing and allotment of supplies for the Senate, and to supervise the authorization and reimbursement of all out-of-state travel for all members of the Senate, and Senate staff.[1]
The Senate Administrative Affairs Committee is comprised by the following stipulated array:
"Pursuant to Senate Rule 2-1.2, this committee shall be composed of the President of the Senate, the President Pro Tempore, the Majority Leader, the Minority Leader, the Secretary of the Senate, and three members appointed by the President of the Senate.
