The village lies in a valley surrounded by forest. It is located on the edge of the protected karst area called Moravian Karst. The area is great for walking, cycling and horse riding. A traditional folk feast is organised every year and there is a number of other events in the village. Social events are partly organised by voluntary firemen organisation, gym-organisation, senior club, catholic church, library, cycling club and PRO Březinu.

Březina lies 15km from Brno, the second largest town in the Czech Republic which has almost 400 000 inhabitants. Most people living in Březina work in Brno. The key reasons why people choose to live in Březina are the natural environment and the proximity to Brno.

The village council elected in the municipality elections in 2014 is enthusiastic and keen on international cooperation. The aim of the village council is to enhance high level of living standard, public services, safety and sustainable development at the same time. The international cooperation may be focused on sustainable development, tourism, cultural traditions, history and historical technology (in Březina there was a centre of¨lime production from the 18th till the beginning of the 20th century).
