Cavaliers Radio Network

The Cleveland Cavaliers Radio Network is an American radio network consisting of 23 radio stations which carry coverage of the Cleveland Cavaliers, a professional basketball team in the NBA. WTAM/Cleveland (1100 AM) and sister station WMMS/Cleveland (100.7 FM) serve as the network's 2 flagship stations. The network also includes 21 affiliates in the U.S. states of Ohio and West Virginia: 13 AM stations, 2 of which extend their signals with low-power FM translators; and 8 full-power FM stations. John Michael is the current play-by-play announcer, while Jim Chones serves as color analyst.[1][2][3] In addition to traditional over-the-air AM and FM broadcasts, the Cavaliers are available on SiriusXM satellite radio, and online with NBA Audio League Pass.[4][5]

History

In 2008, longtime flagship WTAM signed a five-year contract extension with the Cavaliers through the 201314 season; in 2011, a Cavs spokesman stated there were "multiple years" remaining on the team's contract with WTAM, without specifying an end date. In 2014, WTAM owner iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel) announced a new "muti-year" contract with the team; this new arrangement also established simulcasts on WTAM sister station WMMS.[6][7][8]
