Teams

Team One: The Kabras

Ian, Natalie, and Isabel Kabra (all from London, United Kingdom)[1] are the richest and most ruthless team in the quest. Isabel Kabra née Vesper-Hollingsworth is the wife of Vikram Kabra, both of whom are the billionaire parents of Ian and Natalie. Ian is fourteen years old while Natalie is eleven. Both children have cinnamon-complexion skin.[2] Ian is interested in jets while Natalie is a shopaholic. Ian also has feelings for Amy Cahill, despite the disagreement of his mother. Natalie always carries a poison dart gun with her for protection.[3] Isabel, on the other hand, is an art dealer like her husband Vikram.[4] She is so desperate for Clues that she is even willing to risk the lives of others, including her own children.[5] She also killed five people; including Hope Cahill, possibly Arthur Trent, Irina Spasky, Lester Dixon, and Nathaniel Hartford.[6][7] Originally, siblings Ian and Natalie are the only ones who accepted the challenge. In the sixth book, Isabel officially joins her children due to her annoyance to them always failing to find Clues. In the end, Isabel was imprisoned for the rest of her life,[5] and as a result of their parent's fates, Ian and Natalie are now the current leaders of the Lucians.[8] Isabel was sentenced to life in jail with no chance of parole by Vespers due to her failing her mission. Isabel found a way back into the world her cover is AidWorksWonders. In Day of Doom, Natalie is electrocuted on the Machina Fini Mundi. Isabel sees Natalie's dead body and drinks the Master Serum, attacking Vesper One. The device then explodes, killing Isabel and Vesper One. They are all Lucians. The Kabras are deadly. Their respective cards range from No. 178 (Ian), No. 112 (Natalie), and No. 177 (Isabel).[9]

Team Two: The Holts

The Holt family is composed of Eisenhower, Mary-Todd, Hamilton, Madison, Reagan, and Arnold Holt (all from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, except Mary-Todd, who is from Daytona Beach, Florida).[10] They are the strongest team in the quest. Eisenhower and Mary-Todd provide as the parents of Hamilton Pierre, Madison, and Reagan.[11] Arnold, the family pit bull, is also considered as member of the family. Hamilton is fourteen years old while identical twins Madison and Reagan are both eleven. The whole family commonly wear matching purple jogsuits, and they always travel with Arnold. Eisenhower is a failed soldier and agent from the United States Military Academy and Federal Bureau of Investigation, respectively; and has been working as a security guard since then.[12] He was apparently expelled from West Point Military Academy due to an accusation by Arthur Trent, who was his roommate. He is also one of those witnesses of Hope Cahill's and Arthur Trent's deaths. Hamilton is a member of his school's football team,[10] and is a master of parkour.[13] He is also good in technology and computers as well. Throughout the books, Hamilton provides the best defense for Amy and Dan Cahill during their alliances, especially in Into the Gauntlet.[5][14] Madison is good in ice hockey while Reagan's profession is kickboxing.[13] Reagan, however, is the most compassionate member of the family, and she is as well taking ballet lessons.[15] Hamilton, Madison, and Reagan are considered as their school's bullies. Arnold is very fond of biting others. They are all Tomas. Their respective cards range from No. 145 (Eisenhower), No. 238 (Mary-Todd), No. 90 (Hamilton), No. 187 (Madison), and No. 123 (Reagan).[9] Arnold's official cards are No. 403, No. 412, No. 414, and No. 418.[9]

Team Three: Alistair Oh

Alistair Oh (from Seoul, South Korea)[16] is one of the wittiest clue hunters in the quest. He always holds his diamond-tipped cane with him while traveling.[17] Alistair is also the inventor of microwavable burritos.[18] Although he lost much of his money on bad investments,[19] he managed to live by himself since the death of his father Gordon. Alistair makes alliances with other teams only to then doublecross them, and sometimes leaving them to die.[18] Also, he was one of the witnesses of Hope Cahill's and Arthur Trent's deaths. He turned Isabel Kabra over to the police, putting her in prison until her death.[5] He is an Ekat, wherein his uncle Bae is the branch leader.[20] His official card is No. 34.[9]

Team Four: The Starling Triplets

Ned, Ted, and Sinead Starling (all from Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts)[21] are the most surprising team in the quest. Ned, Ted, and Sinead are commonly seen in their preppy clothes. In the first book, while at the Franklin Institute, an explosion occurs that severely hurts them, and put them out of the clue hunt for almost a month. After recovery, they were grounded by their parents [22] thus, they cannot continue on their quest. However, they found medical procedures to speed up healing for their injuries, but still leaving Ned with recurring and painful headaches and Ted almost completely blind. They have read up on the hunt during their hospital days to keep up with the other teams, and even stole one of Bae Oh's Clues. Sinead has become very protective of her brothers since their incident and made it her goal to use the master serum to cure them.[5] They are all Ekats. In the 4th book of the second series, it was revealed that Sinead was Vesper 3, the mole, but later in Day of Doom she returns to the Cahills after realizing that she harmed her own family and that Vesper One will kill all the hostages, including Ted. They do not have any respective cards, although Sinead Starling appears in the card 303: magnifying glass and the card 284: Vesper Mole

Team Five: Irina Spasky

Irina Nikolaievna Spaskaya[23] (from St. Petersburg, Russia)[24] is the most mysterious person in the quest. She is forty-seven years old, and always wears her KGB uniform, which she used during the Cold War.[25] She also always carries fingernail injectors filled with poison for protection.[25] Her left eye commonly twitches when she's nervous.[26] Irina's husband was killed by Isabel Kabra, since he was next in line for Lucian leadership. Irina also had a son named Nikolai who died while she was on a mission, thanks to a sickness. In the sixth book, Irina is incinerated while saving Amy Cahill, Dan Cahill, and Alistair Oh from Alistair's burning apartment. In the last book, it was revealed that she gave Alistair a short-term memory loss pill before her death, which helps them make sure Isabel Kabra wouldn't remember any clues of how to make the Master Serum.[5] She is a Lucian. But sadly she died in a fire trying to save Amy and Dan. Her official cards are No. 74 and No. 107.[9]

Team Six: The Wizards

Jonah (from Los Angeles, California)[27] and Broderick Wizard (from Dallas, Texas) are the most famous team in the quest. Jonah is fifteen years old.[6] Jonah is an award-winning musician, artist, writer, producer, and entrepreneur, with his music on the top ten in almost every country; with his father Broderick serving as his personal manager. Jonah always wear blings around his neck, while Broderick always brings his BlackBerry with him. Cora Wizard, Broderick's wife, tried to train Jonah to become a killer.[6] Also in the eighth book, Jonah decided to quit the quest, only to return in the last book, where he was revealed to be a fan of William Shakespeare. Jonah is a Janus, wherein Cora serves as one of the branch leaders. Although Broderick is not a Cahill, he knows three more Clues than his family suspect he knows.[28] Jonah's official card is No. 80, while Broderick is No. 153.[9]

Team Seven: Amy and Dan Cahill and Nellie Gomez

Amy and Dan Cahill (both from Boston,who are kids that took up the quest). Nellie Gomez (Also from Massachusetts) serves as there au pair and supervisor. [29]They are the protagonists of the franchise. Amy is fourteen years old while Dan is eleven. Both of them have jade eyes.[30] Amy is shown to be intelligent and analytical, while Dan is more active, with a photographic memory. Amy, however, is agoraphobic and pyrophobic,;[2][31] while Dan has asthma and is claustrophobic. They were both wards of Beatrice Cahill since the death of their parents Hope Cahill and Arthur Trent.[32] Throughout the hunt, Amy, and Dan provided the least power to search for the Clues. Surprisingly, they have collected as many Clues as everyone in the hunt, with the help of Nellie Gomez . In the end, Amy and Dan reunite the Cahill family altogether, bringing peace to every Cahill who worked almost 500 years for finding the 39 Clues. Following the events of Into The Gauntlet, and after making peace with Ian and Natalie Kabra, Hamilton Holt, Alistair Oh, Sinead Starling and Jonah Wizard, Amy is named their grandmother Grace's successor and head of the family.[5] They are now in custody of Nellie Gomez and Fiske Cahill. Their branch is revealed late in the series to be Madrigals; the secret fifth branch descended from Madeleine Cahill.[5] Amy's official card is No. 18 while Dan's is No. 2.[9]

Branch Leaders

Grace Cahill

Grace Cahill (from Attleboro, Massachusetts) was the matriarch of the Cahill family. She died[33] when she was seventy-nine years old.[34] She had a jade necklace that she always wore until her death.[35] She was a professional pilot,[36] and had a private airplane that she flew around the world with, which she named The Flying Lemur.[34] During her life, she had been lonely due to the deaths of her relatives (her husband Nathaniel Hartford,[34] her daughter Hope Cahill,[34] and her son-in-law Arthur Trent[34]). Even though, she managed to keep all the Clues safe in her hands until her death just after she altered her will and thus started the quest.[37] Her official cards are No. 59, #133, and No. 197.[9]

William McIntyre

William McIntyre[38] (from Boston, Massachusetts)[39] is the lawyer of Grace Cahill. During his childhood, he once had a dog named Oliver. He is the one who told the seven teams about the quest. He had been following Amy and Dan Cahill since the beginning of the quest. After the death of Grace Cahill, he was instructed to lead the group with the help of Fiske Cahill. He dies in the second book of the second series. He does not have a card, but appears in No. 200.

Isabel Kabra

Isabel Kabra is the main antagonist of the first series, and mother of Ian and Natalie. She was the one who murdered Amy and Dan's parents, and she eventually murdered Irina Spasky as well. She created the Master Serum as part of an attempt to become the most powerful Human on Earth, but the vial containing it smashed. She was knocked out, and later taken into police custody. To get out of prison, she created a service called AidsWorksWonders, but it is revealed later that she simply pays people to claim that her organization helped them. In day of doom, It is revealed that she is vesper two, the shield. It's also revealed that she was faking texts sent by Arthur Trent to Dan, in order to make Dan give her information about the Master Serum. In the end of Day of Doom, she sees the dead body of her daughter, Natalie and assuming that Vesper One killed her, she swears to take revenge on him. She drinks the Master Serum which stole from Dan, and she storms into the room where Cahills and Vespers are fighting killing every Vesper in her way. She then attacks Vesper One, and meanwhile she prevents Amy and Dan to do so. She, eventually destroys The Machina Fini Mundi and she causes a massive explosion which kills both her and Vesper One

Vikram Kabra

Vikram Kabra (from London, United Kingdom)[1] was the leader of the Lucians, which he shared with his wife Isabel Kabra.[8] He was an art dealer who served as Ian and Natalie Kabra's father. Later on, it was revealed that, only a few hours after Isabel's arrest, he chartered a plane to Brazil to avoid questioning. His card is No. 232.[9]

Ruslan Radov

Ruslan Radov (from Volgograd, Russia) was the former leader of the Lucians.[40] He is the husband of Anastasia Romanov, and the father of Nataliya Ruslanova Radova.[40] He is known for being as ruthless as Isabel Kabra. His best friend was Nikilovana Spasky.[40] He does not have a card.

Nikilovana Spasky

Nikilovana Spasky (from Moscow, Russia) was the husband of Irina Spasky and the father of Nikolai Spasky. He was a Lucian. He was next in line to be the leader of Lucians, but he was killed by Isabel Kabra. He was killed five months after his son was born. He was the best friend of Ruslan Radova. He does not have a card.

Bae Oh

Bae Oh (from Seoul, South Korea)[41] was the leader of the Ekats.[20] He is eighty-seven years old. He is commonly holding his silver-tipped cane. His twin brother, Gordon, was murdered by a killer he hired sixty years ago.[6] He is Alistair Oh's uncle. When Alistair returned from the Madrigal gauntlet, he tricked Bae into confessing that he killed Gordon Oh and Bae was subsequently arrested for murder, arms dealing, assault, and battery. He was tortured to death. His card is No. 168.[9]

Ivan Kleister

Ivan Kleister (from Oslo, Norway)[42] is the leader of the Tomas.[43] He is a champion skier. He is frequently competing with Eisenhower Holt for the branch leadership, even though he already has the position. His card is No. 188.[9]

Cora Wizard

Cora Wizard (from Los Angeles, California)[44] is one of the leaders of the Janus.[45] She is the talented wife of Broderick. She is the youngest person to receive a Nobel Prize in Literature.[46] She trains her son Jonah to become a killer.[6] Her card is No. 152.[9]

Spencer Gray

Spencer Langendoen, also known by his professional name Spencer Gray (from New York City), was one of the leaders of the Janus.[45] He does not have a card. When he would not step down, Cora Wizard leaked fake documents about him and he stepped down in disgrace.

Halima Amadi

Halima Amadi (from New York City) was one of the leaders of the Janus.[45] She does not have a card. She was bribed by Cora Wizard to step down from her post as leader.

Current Branch Leaders

Ian Kabra

Ian Kabra (from London, United Kingdom) is the current branch leaders of the Lucians since their father went into hiding and their mother went to jail for the murder of Hope Cahill and Arthur Trent. Ian inherited the multi-millionaire estate and art dealership. Natalie was killed in Day of Doom, so Ian is the single Lucian leader. He has found the love of his life in the Unstoppable series.

Jonah and Broderick Wizard

Jonah Wizard and his father Broderick (from Los Angeles, California) are the current branch leaders of the Janus prior to Cora Wizard's disappearance.

Sinead Starling

Sinead Starling (from Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts) is the current next in-line for branch leader of the Ekats since Bae Oh was arrested. She was revealed as Vesper 3, the mole, in the 4th book of the second series. In the 6th book of the second series, she quit Vespers and she returns to the Cahills as soon as she realized that Vesper 1 is going to kill Ted. It was supposed to be Alistair Oh until he died in the second series.

Amy and Dan Cahill

Amy and Dan are the leaders of the Madrigals. Amy is 14 in the first series during the Clue Hunt while 16 in the next ones while Dan is 11 in the first series and 13 in the next ones.

Founders

Gideon Cahill

Gideon Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the father of the founders of the five branches. He was one of the smartest scientists in Ireland in his time, having discovered how to turn lead into gold.[48] This was the reason that the townsfolk asked for his help to create a cure for the plague. However, instead of creating the cure, he also discovered a serum that would enhance an individual's abilities in every kind of human endeavor, but it killed him from inside. Thus, he gave each of his children a part of the formula for safe guarding, improving their skills. Then he destroyed his research and died on the way. The children wanted the whole serum, and consequently continued to fight for it until the reunification caused by Amy and Dan Cahill's efforts.[5][49] He died in a house fire caused by the Vesper family. He does not have a card. He had a ring that is very important and powerful – the Vespers hunt for it.

Olivia Cahill

Olivia Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the mother of all the five branches. She is the supportive wife of Gideon Cahill. After Gideon's death, her children began on going their separate ways and created their own branches to compete with each other for the serum's powers.[49] She does not have a card. She inherited the ring as a token of love from Gideon after he died.

Madeleine Cahill

Madeleine Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the founder of the Madrigals. She is the sister of Thomas, Luke, Jane and Katherine. After the fire, Thomas, Luke, Jane, and Katherine went and founded the branches. They left their mother behind, not knowing that she was pregnant with their sister. Olivia raised Madeleine alone, stressing her desire for the branches to unite. Madeleine is rumored to have some dealings with the Vespers concerning Olivia's death, which suggests she knew who started the fire.

Katherine Cahill

Katherine Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the founder of the Ekats. She is the sister of Thomas, Luke, Jane and Madeleine Cahill. She is fond of technology and science.[49] She has a deep abhorrence with Thomas that she managed to steal one of his clues.[50] Her branch originally settled in Cairo, and continued to spread worldwide.[51] She received the power of great knowledge and creativity through the serum.[49] Her official card is No. 99.[9]

Thomas Cahill

Thomas Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the founder of the Tomas. He is the brother of Luke, Katherine, Jane, and Madeleine. He likes sports and games, as well as traveling.[49] He has a high disgust with Katherine Cahill due to Katherine stealing one of his clues.[50] His branch originally settled in Tokyo, and continued to spread worldwide.[51] He received the power of great strength and agility through the serum.[49] His official card is No. 124.[9]

Luke Cahill

Luke Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the founder of the Lucians. He is the brother of Thomas, Katherine, Jane, and Madeleine. He is fond of poison and daggers, wherein Sir Isaac Newton found one of his swords.[49] His branch originally settled in London, where he served as one of the advisors of King Henry VII, and continued to spread worldwide.[51] This is proved by the diary which he gave to Jane, which is what she witnessed.[49] He received the power of great violence and secrecy through the serum.[49] His official card is No. 115.[9]

Jane Cahill

Jane Cahill (from Cahill Island, Ireland)[47] is the founder of the Janus. She is the sister of Thomas, Luke, Katherine,and Madeleine. She is good at writing and painting, as well as at music. It is said that she knew who caused the fire.[49] Her branch originally settled in Venice, and continued to spread worldwide.[49] She received the power of great talents and skills through the serum.[49] Her official card is No. 82.[9]

Damien Vesper

Damien Vesper is the founder of the Vesper Organization. He used to be good friends with Gideon Cahill.

Grace Cahill's Family

Amy Cahill

Born as Amelia Hope Cahill. She was only 7 years old when her parents died. Amy became the Madrigal branch leader at the age 16 but gave the power to Dan when she was dying.

Dan Cahill

Born as Daniel Arthur Cahill. He was only 4 years old when his parents died, and he and Amy were on the most wanted list.

Hope Cahill

Hope Trent née Cahill-Hartford (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[34] is the daughter of Grace Cahill.[34] She is Amy and Dan Cahill's mother who is an archaeologist.[52] She met Arthur Trent when she was in Istanbul, Turkey,[52] and later married him. She perished in her burning house with Arthur when she was forty-one years old.[7][32][34] The fire was started by Isabel Kabra.[6] She is a Madrigal. Her card is No. 247.[9]

Arthur Trent

Arthur Josiah Trent[7] (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[34] was the husband of Hope Cahill.[34] He is Amy and Dan Cahill's father who is a nonlinear dynamics and quantum field theory professor.[7] He is a United States Military Academy drop-out. Arthur Trent was born into a family with close ties to the Vespers (the only other family that knows about the 39 clues excluding the Cahills.) He was raised to believe that the Cahills were weaklings and that the power of the clues belonged in Vesper hands. He had been sent to Turkey to find Hope and make her fall in love with him. However, when Arthur actually met his beautiful target, something happened. He was enchanted by her intelligence, her kindness, and the way her nose twitched when she laughed. In Turkey, Arthur then learned some terrifying information about the Vespers. He realized that he needed to cut his ties to the organization, although the act would put him in danger for the rest of his life. Before he proposed, Arthur told Hope the truth about his background, but Hope already knew. William McIntyre's spies had been following him for months. He was believed to have perished in his burning house with Hope when he was forty-two years old, but in the book A King's Ransom it is revealed that he may be alive and still a Vesper. This theory is later disproved.[7][32][34][52] The fire was started by Isabel Kabra.[6] He is not a Madrigal, but was one of the most active people in the Madrigals.[53] His card is No. 246.[9]

Fiske Cahill

Fiske Green-Cahill (AKA the Man in Black or the Man in Gray) (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[34][54] is the brother of Grace Cahill.[34] An artist, Fiske was last seen leaving his painting studio before his disappearance forty-six years ago.[54] Today, he is now disguising himself as an unknown assailant termed the Man in Black due to his oily-black suit that hides his entire body.[55] He has been spying on the other teams since then. In the ninth book, he is shortly known as the Man in Gray, only to reveal his true identity to Amy and Dan Cahill later on. In the last book, he tells Amy and Dan about the Vespers, and later on adopts Amy and Dan.[5] He is a Madrigal. His official card is No. 198 for his true identity, No. 203 for his alter ego Man in Black, and No. 208 for his other identity Man in Gray.[9]

Saladin

Saladin (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[56] is the Egyptian Mau of Grace Cahill. He is very fond of red snappers.[57] He is named after Saladin, whose full name was Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub, and who was the Muslim prince who led the Muslims during the Crusades. Since the death of Grace, Saladin was missing until Amy and Dan Cahill found him, and has joined them in the hunt since then. He is a Madrigal. His cards are No. 33, #140, and No. 202.[9]

Nathaniel Hartford

Nathaniel Hartford (from Cambridge, Massachusetts)[34] was the husband of Grace Cahill.[34] He was killed by Isabel Kabra while in Moscow, since he was looking for revenge from Isabel Kabra for killing his daughter, Hope Cahill.[34] He is a Madrigal. He does not have a card.

Beatrice Cahill

Beatrice Green-Cahill (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[34] is the sister of Grace Cahill.[34] She is the mean, arrogant daughter of James Cahill who accepted the responsibility of taking care of Amy and Dan Cahill.[30] She is not involved in the hunt, since she took the million dollars instead. She knows how it affected the lives of their family. She sent a private investigator after Amy and Dan after they joined the hunt, but after long efforts, stopped on finding them. She has been divorced thrice to, namely: Stephano Breglio, Jean-Luc Benoit, and Sergei Baskov. She is an inactive Madrigal. She does not have a card.

James Cahill

James St. James Cahill (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[34] is the father of Grace Cahill.[34] He is a Madrigal and the half-brother of Gordon Oh. He does not have a card.

Edith Green

Edith Cahill née Schneider-Green (from Attleboro, Massachusetts)[34] is the mother of Grace Cahill.[34] She is a Madrigal. She does not have a card.

Henry Cahill

Henry Cahill (from Attleboro, Massachusetts) is the paternal grandfather of Grace Cahill.[34] He is both married to Flora Cahill St. James and Hae-In Oh. He is a Madrigal. He does not have a card.

Flora Cahill St. James

Flora Cahill née Cahill-St. James (from Attleboro, Massachusetts) is the paternal grandmother of Grace Cahill. She is both married to Henry Cahill and Hatta Oh.[34] She is a Madrigal. She does not have a card.

Hae-In Oh

Hae-In Cahill née Oh (from Seoul, South Korea) is the paternal step-grandmother of Grace Cahill.[34] She is an Ekat. She is both married to Hatta Oh and Henry Cahill.She does not have a card.

Hatta Oh

Hatta Oh (from Seoul, South Korea) is the paternal step-grandfather of Grace Cahill.He is an Ekat.He is both married to Hae-In-Oh and Flora Cahill St. James.He does not have a card.

Gordon Oh

Gordon Oh (from Seoul, South Korea) is the twin of Bae Oh, and the half-uncle of Grace Cahill. He is also the father of Alistair Oh.[6] He was murdered by Bae sixty years ago.[6] He is an Ekat. His official card is No. 227.[9]

Lin Kim

Lin Oh née Kim (from Seoul, South Korea) is the step-aunt of Grace Cahill.[34] She is Gordon Oh's wife and Alistair Oh's mother. She is an Ekat. She does not have a card.

Bae Oh

Alistair Oh

The uncle of Amy and Dan, he was raised by his own uncle, the evil Bae Oh (who hired a man to murder Alistair's father). He made many alliances with Amy and Dan. In Book 3, he faked his own death and then stole the Clue, running off to take revenge on Bae. It did not take long for Amy and Dan to realize that Alistair's death was fake. However, he gained their trust again in Book 4, and he was the one who helped them find the next few leads. He gave Amy and Dan a trip to the possible location of a Clue in In Too Deep, and all three of them were trapped in his apartment, which was set on fire by Isabel Kabra. He escaped without helping anyone else out, but Amy and Dan got out after Irina Spasky saved them (and died in the process). Alistair once tricked Bae into admitting he had Gordon murdered, and Bae was taken to a Madrigal prison, where he was tortured to death.

Uncle Jose

Jose Correa (from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is one of Grace Cahill's long-distance cousins, referred by Amy and Dan Cahill as "Uncle Jose".[58] He is one of those chosen by Grace to participate in the hunt, but took the million dollars.[58]

Cousin Ingrid

Ingrid Martinson (from Oslo, Norway) is one of Grace Cahill's long distance nieces, referred by Amy and Dan Cahill as "Cousin Ingrid".[58] She is one of those chosen by Grace to participate in the hunt, but took the million dollars.[58]

Minor Book characters

Fidelio Racco

Fidelio Racco (from Venice, Italy) was a famous shipper. He was a close friend of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who ordered from him Japanese steel to serve as a Clue in the second book and the third book.[59] His mansion now serves as a museum, the Collezione di Racco, to protect the Clue from discovery.[9]

NRR

Nataliya Ruslanova Radova, more commonly known as NRR, (from Volgograd, Russia) is the daughter of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia and Ruslan Radova, the former branch leader of the Lucians. She suffers from hemophilia (a continuation of the Royal Haemophilia Line), and owns the ring of Czar Nikolai I of Russia.[60] She is a Madrigal. It is revealed in the Black Book of Buried Secrets that she was a Lucian double agent. She does not have a card.

Bob Troppo

Robert Cahill Henderson, also known by his alias name Bob Troppo, (from Coober Pedy, Australia) is an infamous scientist. He was one of the Cahills who came close in finding all 39 Clues. Days before his marriage, he managed to steal all Clues from the branch of his fiancėe, and was charged for stealing by the family. His laboratory was also destroyed during the eruption of Krakatoa. He is an Ekat. He has no card.

Nikolai Spasky

Nikolai Spaskaya (lt. Nikolai Spasky) (from St. Petersburg, Russia) is the son of Irina and Nikivlona Spasky. His father died five months after he was born. It is said that his mother never talked about his father much, and even when he asked about him, she replied You'll learn later. Sadly he never did.[61] During age eight, Nikolai had a terrible disease which made his body numb. Irina never left his side, until Isabel Kabra assigned her to a mission in Helsinki. While on espionage, Irina had no contacts to the doctor, who had already confirmed Nikolai's death.[61] He is a Lucian.[61] He does not have a card.

Robert Bardsley

Robert Bardsley (from Pretoria, South Africa) is a music professor. He is a friend of Winifred Thembeka. He was a member of the Tomas until he discovered the true intentions of the branch. It is revealed that he joined the Madrigals later. He does not have a card.

Sammy Mourad

Sammy Mourad is a student at Columbia University who made the Serum with Dan in Trust No One. He is kidnapped by J. Rutherford Pierce in Nowhere to Run but was saved by Nellie in Breakway and has since formed a relationship with her. He is part Lucian and part Ekaterina.

Victor Wood

Victor Wood (from London, United Kingdom)[62] is a chemist of the Ekats. He is researching on a Clue under Dr. Lee.[63] He was also sent to Easter Island to spy the headquarters of Madrigals. His card is No. 23.[9]

Gordon Klose

Gordon L. Klose (from Tbilisi, Georgia)[64] is a Lucian agent of Section 7 of the Government of the United States. He is apparently spying on Grace Cahill.[65] His card is No. 39.[9]

Alana Flores

Alana Flores (from Los Angeles, USA)[66] was a chess prodigy of the Lucians. Her request to accompany The Kabras on the hunt was rejected by the branch due to her obvious ruthlessness.[67] Also, she was sent to Easter Island to spy the headquarters of Madrigals. Her card is No. 40.[9]

Heinrich Heinrichson

Heinrich Heinrichson (from Berlin, Germany)[68] is an escaped prisoner of the Tomas. He is spying on William McIntyre.[69] His card is No. 50.[9]

Yasmeen Badawi

Yasmeen Badawi (from Maadi, Egypt)[70] is a robotic inventor of the Ekats. She was hired by Bae Oh to invent robots to be sent for Clue search in Anak Krakatoa, Indonesia.[71] Her card is No. 97.[9]

Sophie Watson

Sophie Watson (from London, United Kingdom)[72] is a Janus dancer. She is competing with Natalie Kabra on a Clue in her hometown.[73] Her card is No. 151.[9]

Devin Cooper

Devin Cooper (from Evanston, Illinois)[72] is an Ekat treehouse engineer. He is building several booby-traps for the Ekat's safe-keeping of the Rosetta Stone in England. His card is No. 167.[9]

Teodora Kosara

Teodora Kosara (from Sofia, Bulgaria)[74] is an Ekat. She is looking for Clues everywhere in the world by sabotaging other people around her.In the Black Book of Buried Secrets,it is proved she has ties with the Vespers. in Rapid Fire 5 she appeared as a skydiving teacher and trained Amy into skydiving. Then she pointed Amy with a gun and asked, "Where's the ring"? (Gideon's Ring). Amy escapes.[75] Her card is No. 169.[9]

Andras Gergely

Andras Gergely (from Budapest, Hungary)[76] is a Lucian. He is planning to conquer all branches with his branch.[77] His card is No. 179.[9]

Maleia Kalani

Maleia Kalani (from Honolulu, Hawaii)[78] is a Tomas surfer. She was sent to Easter Island to spy the headquarters of Madrigals. Her card is No. 189.[9]

Nellie Gomez (from Boston, Massachusetts)[84] is Amy and Dan Cahill's au pair.[84] She is an aspiring chef and musician.[84] She is considered as Amy and Dan's guardian throughout their travel. Throughout the books, she is the children's only trusted adult, until they learn she is a spy (hired by Grace Cahill). In the sixth book, she is revealed to be a trained pilot. She was later in the series granted active Madrigal status. Her card is No. 244. In Cahills vs Vespers she is abducted by the Vespers along with Reagan Holt, Fiske Cahill, Phoenix Wizard, Ted Starling, Natalie Kabra and Alistair Oh[9]

Hilary Vale

Hilary Vale (from Cairo, Egypt) is Grace Cahill's best friend. She is also Theo Cotter's grandmother. In the fourth book, she saves Amy and Dan Cahill from the Ekats. She also gives Amy and Dan the third Sakhet. Later, she tries to steal the third Sakhet from the children.

Theo Cotter

Theo Cotter (from Cairo, Egypt) is Hilary Vale's grandson. He is an archaeologist and Egyptologist who saved Amy and Dan Cahill from a trap. He helped them recover the third Sakhet in the fourth book. However, he tried to steal it from them later with his aunt. Due to guilt, he sent Irina Spasky away from the children.

Sami Kamel

Sami Kamel (from Cairo, Egypt) is the store owner of Treasures of Egypt. In the fourth book, his store secretly hides the Clue which Amy and Dan Cahill found.

Shep Trent

Shepard "Shep" Trent (from Sydney)[85] is a professional pilot and surfer.[85] He is Arthur Trent's best friend and cousin.[85] He helped Amy and Dan Cahill escape Isabel Kabra and flies them to Coober Pedy, Australia.[85]

Winifred Thembeka

Winifred Thembeka (from Johannesburg, South Africa)[86] is one of Grace Cahill's friends. She is a librarian.[86] In the seventh book, she gives Amy and Dan Cahill access to some of their grandmother Grace Cahill's belongings and photos.[86]

Lester Dixon

Lester Dixon (from Spanish Town, Jamaica) is one of Grace Cahill's friends. He is an archaeologist.[49] Although he helped Amy and Dan Cahill throughout the book, he abandons them amidst their confrontation of Isabel Kabra.[49] He drowns on quicksand after trying to help Anton and Hugo Aguelles, Isabel's bodyguards; and is later pulled by policemen from the water.[49]

The Aguelles Siblings

Anton and Hugo Aguelles (from Kingston, Jamaica) are Isabel Kabra's ginormous bodyguards. They were only present in the ninth book, where they had caused much havoc to Amy and Dan Cahill.[49] During an escape, the Aguelles were trapped on quicksand. Lester Dixon helped them, but instead the siblings used Lester as a ladder and led him to his death.[49]

Amur Viper Hotel Doorman

The doorman of Amur Viper Hotel (from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan)[81] gave information about Ian and Natalie Kabra's whereabouts and access to their hotel room in Mission 4.[81]

Edison National Historic Site Tour Guide

The tour guide of the Edison National Historic Site (from West Orange, USA)[83] gave information about the rivalry between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison in Mission 6.[83]
