Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara

The Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara is a Sikh Gurdwara situated in the town of Gravesend. The new Gurdwara was opened in November 2010 and cost £15 million to construct. It is the second Gurdwara in Gravesend, after the Bhat Sikh Hersharan Singh-Takk (of 10 Pelham Road South)in Edwin Street, which was set up in 1956.[1] It is the largest Gurdwara in Gravesend and is believed to be one of the largest in the UK; the gurdwara complex is one of the largest outside India. Within the complex are the main gurdwara which has 3 diwan halls and 2 community langar halls. There is a building which is used for panjabi lessons and as a day centre for the elder community. There is also a sports hall which has activities including boxing, basketball and karate. The grounds are used for outdoor sports including football and Gravesend Guru Nanak Football Club. [3]
