Insurance and Labor Committee (Georgia Senate)

The Senate Insurance and Labor Committee is a nine-member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and six members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to consider legislation that regulates insurance industries that operate within the state and to regulate labor standards throughout the state.[1]

Scope and jurisdiction

The Senate Insurance and Labor Committee regulates insurance, workers' compensation, and unemployment compensation. The Committee has jurisdiction throughout the state over child labor, convict labor, labor standards, and in providing for dispute resolution.[1]
