Jerzu, Iertzu in sardinian language, is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northeast of Cagliari and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Tortolì. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,287 and an area of 102.5 square kilometres (39.6 sq mi).[1] Jerzu is known for the production of a particular type of wine, called Cannonau di Jerzu.
Jerzu borders the following municipalities: Arzana, Cardedu, Gairo, Lanusei, Osini, Tertenia, Ulassai, Villaputzu.
