Judiciary Committee (Georgia Senate)

The Senate Judiciary Committee is a nine-member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and six members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to consider all legislative acts that affect the judicial process dealing with civil procedures and practices throughout the state.[1]

Scope and jurisdiction

The Senate Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over matters of civil liberties, governmental information, and constitutional amendments.[1] The Judiciary Committee receives direct support from the Special Judiciary Committee in fulfilling its obligations.[2]
