Peter's case is well known in law, as he had attempted to appeal that due to the previous convictions, that for his third charge, due to pre-trial publicity and the notion that it would be impossible to have a fair trial. His appeal was subsequently dismissed, as it was ruled that it could be overcome by the judge giving the jury adequate direction.[87]
- Leonard Fraser, also known as "The Rockhampton Rapist"; killed four - seven women in Rockhampton, Queensland[88]

- Brian Keith Jones, aka "Mr Baldy", serial paedophile, jailed indefinitely in 2006 for breaches of parole[109]
- Milton Orkopoulos, NSW state MP and child sex offender[110]
- Patrick Power, Crown prosecutor convicted of possessing child pornography[111]
- Kent Andrew Garrett, prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions for 29 child grooming-related offences against 17 victims; the trial originally listed to begin on 1 September 2014 ended on 2 September 2014 when Garrett pleaded guilty to all the charges before the trial began[112]
- Peter Scully, is an Australian child molester guilty of the murder of an 11-year-old Filipina girl, and of the torture and sexual abuse of at least eight girls, including an 18-month-old infant. He uploaded a video torturing and raping one of his child victims in the most gruesome ways possible and titled it "Daisy's Destruction". Scully was later given life imprisonment.

- Mark "Chopper" Read is an author and a violent criminal convicted of attempted murder, armed robbery, assault, kidnapping, arson and impersonating a police officer. He is also known for his interview on 60 minutes when he was playing "Russian Roulette" with himself and later asked the news reporter if she wanted to play and she said no, he didn't take no for an answer and pointed the gun at her head and pulled the trigger, luckily there was no bullet in the chamber he shot at her, it was also revealed that Read had been molested as a child.
