Los Garzones Airport (IATA: MTR, ICAO: SKMR) is an airport in Montería, Córdoba, Colombia. It is the only airport in the department of Córdoba that can handle modern jets.

History

The airport opened in 1974, to replace the old airport that could not expand its runway. The airport had three parking gates and a terminal which was 446.64 feet. In 2008, the city of Montería had agreed to modernize the aging airport with help from the company Airplan. In 2009, the original terminal was demolished and was replaced with a new terminal. Then, there were three more gates added, making six gates in total. A new cargo terminal was added along with these new gates. The runway was extended from 5,738 feet to 6,285 feet. Then finally the terminal was extended and renovated, there would be a new gate added. The expansion was completed in early November, 2016.
