Mar Athanasius College of Engineering (MACE), located in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, Kerala state, India, is one of the top engineering Colleges in Kerala state. MACE campus, set atop a hillock, provides a beautiful view of Kothamangalam, the town known as the Gateway to the High Ranges.

MACE was established in 1961 under Jacobite Christian Management, and is approved by the AICTE. The college is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University.

This college provides Bachelor of Technology degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science), Master of Technology Degree (Computer Aided Structural Engineering (Civil), Production & Industrial Engineering (Mechanical)) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree.

Mode of admission

Candidates for admission to the B.Tech. Degree course shall be required to have passed the higher secondary/+2/XII Std. examination conducted by boards/departments recognized/accepted by the university, obtaining not less than 50% marks in Mathematics and not less than 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together or the diploma examination in Engineering, Kerala or any examination accepted by the government of Kerala as equivalent there to with 50% marks in the final qualifying examination, subject to the usual concession allowed for backward and other communities as specified from time to time. The college has the best accredited Mechanical engineering department in the entire state.Only the top five percentile in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam are able to secure a seat.

Mode of admission

The minimum qualification for admission is B.Sc. Comp. Sc, BCA or B.Sc or B.Com degree with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects with not less than 55% marks, excluding languages, in the qualifying examination.

Candidates with B.Sc. Comp Sc, BCA, B.Sc/ B.Com degree of the Mahatma Gandhi University or any other degree, accepted as equivalent there to by the Mahatma Gandhi University are alone eligible to apply.

The Macepost

MACEPOST is a student operated newsletter website of the college, managed and maintained entirely by the student community of the college.It was launched on July 15, 2013,and has since been instrumental in bringing news and updates on everything related to the college to the public. It provides information on the activities of the various clubs and departments, as well as news of the alumni. It also has a dedicated section to inform students on the events like technical festivals, arts festivals, seminars, paper presentations, exams and job vacancies. Students are also able to write articles like essays, poems, stories, movie reviews, automobile reviews etc. It also provides details on the prizes won by the students in various events. The contact details of the staff-in-charges of the different clubs, associations, PTA and the college union is available in the website.

The photo gallery of the events conducted in the college, and of the alumni reunions can also be viewed. The Previous year question papers of university examinations, GATE and CAT are also available to the students through the website. The best projects, awards given to students by the college, placement details and rank holders through the years are also listed in the website. The specialty of the website lies in the fact that anyone can post news or articles in the website, which after moderation by the admins will be posted on the website.
