Mirto (Sicilian: Mirtu) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) east of Palermo and about 70 kilometres (43 mi) west of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,083 and an area of 9.4 square kilometres (3.6 sq mi).[1]
Mirto borders the following municipalities: Capo d'Orlando, Capri Leone, Frazzanò, Naso, San Salvatore di Fitalia.
