Nokha is a city and a notified area in Rohtas district in the Indian state of Bihar. The economic situation of this region is mainly dependent on parboiled rice processed by number of rice mills in this area.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[2] Nokha had a population of 27,302. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Nokha has good literacy rate of 82.94%. In Nokha, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Economy

Nokha is famous in Bihar as a major centre for production of parboiled rice though the number of rice mills. Though, rice milling still continues to be a major economic activity, but economic activities are also getting diversified now with increasing awareness. If you categorise economically rich small cities Nokha is among them. Now a days many good schools and colleges has been opened. Every year, all peoples are celebrated Chath Puja very well and Nokha is also famous for Chatha Puja festivals. Here all the people irrespective of their religion celebrate this festival together. And not only this festival, peoples are also celebrates other festivals together.

Climate

The climate of the region is sub-tropical and typical of the plains of Northern India, with hot dry summers and cool winters with cold nighttime temperatures. The monsoon is vital for the district as the economy is mainly based on agriculture.

Deforestation has led to climate change and has had an environmental impact, with drought becoming more frequent and temperatures becoming warmer. As recently as the early 1990s, nighttime frost used to be common in the winter, however deforestation in the Kaimur hills has had a negative impact.

Transport

Nokha is well connected with railway and road. This place is well connected with the road, SH-12 passes through the Nokha.
