Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, was established on 9 September 1999. The college functions from a ten–storey building complex of 29,000 square metres to accommodate the demands of students. The Valliammai Engineering College is a part of the SRM Group of Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Valliammai Society. The Valliammai Society was founded by Thiru. Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar, a well-known educationalist, in the name of his beloved mother Smt.R.Valliammai. The Institution is certified with ISO 9001:2008[1] from TUV Rheinland.
Campus location
The college is situated by the side of NH 45, between Tambaram and Chengalpattu. It is an adjoining campus to SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.
Administration
This college is administrated by Thiru.Ravi Pachamoothoo as the Chairman, P. Sathyanarayanan as President, Dr.B.Chidhambara Rajan as Principal, and Dr.M.Murugan as Vice-Principal, have been utilizing their expertise in the upbringing of the institution, under the guidance of Founder and Chairman Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar.
Management
The college has been established in 27.5 acres (111,000 m2) in 25000 sqm built-up areas to accommodate the classes and 33 laboratories in 5061 sqm in an environment easily accessible by road and rail with fully modernized equipment and about 1300 computers to train to the present job requirements. It offers SEVEN Under Graduate courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering with an annual intake of 1020, EIGHT Post Graduate courses in M.E – Computer Science & Engineering, M.E – Power Systems Engg., M.E – Structural Engineering, M.E – CAD/CAM, Master of Computer Applications (MCA)and Master of Business Administration (MBA), with an annual intake of 324. About 300 teaching staff is on role and 4200 students are pursuing their studies.
