Xinyang Minggang Airport (Chinese: 信阳明港机场), or Minggang Air Base, is a military air base near the city of Xinyang in Henan Province, China. Built in 1958, the air base is located in the town of Minggang north of Xinyang. It is planned to convert the air base to a dual-use military and civil airport with an investment of 335 million yuan.[1]
Facilities
Xinyang Minggang Airport has one runway that is 2,700 meters long and 50 meters wide (class 4C), and a 5,000 square-meter terminal building is being planned. The airport is projected to handle 500,000 passengers and 4,000 tons of cargo annually by 2020.[1]
