Amplitude Studios is a game studio based out of Paris, France. It focuses on the development of strategy downloadable games. The studio was founded in 2011 by former Ubisoft employees.[1]

History

Amplitude studios is an acclaimed PC game developer known for working with its players to design strategy games, through Steam Early Access and what is called the Games2Gether: a platform where the developer encourages players to post design suggestions and vote on features that will be implemented into their games.[2][3][4][5]

In July 2016, Sega Europe announced that they had acquired the company with plans to use the developers to help expand into the personal computer gaming market.[6] Founders Mathieu Girard and Romain de Waubert de Genlis stated that they saw the opportunity to work alongside studios Creative Assembly and Relic Entertainment, both subsidiaries of Sega.[7]
