Lal Bahadur Nagar, well known as L.B.Nagar, is a commercial and residential hub in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It was once a Municipality in Ranga Reddy district. It is the main entrance for Hyderabad.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[2] L.B. Nagar had a population of 261,987. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. L.B. Nagar has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 79.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 52%. In L.B. Nagar, 21% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Commercial area

L.B.Nagar is one among the many major commercial centers of Hyderabad. It is located at the crossroads of the main city and its new international airport.

Hotel Sitara Grand, Hotel Abhinand Grand and Hotel Swagath serve as prime hotels, restaurants and banquet halls. BVK Multiplex (Vijaya Lakshmi theatre L.B.Nagar) and Vishnu are the movie theatres, primarily screening Telugu cinema.

Religious Places

A huge Hindu temple complex with temples for Lord Shiva Temple In Sirinagar Colony, sri Rama,Hanuman, Shiva, Krishna, Durga, Saibaba etc. is present on the main road. There are several other temples in the colonies like a Shiva and Saibaba temple in Central Bank Colony, Venkateswara temple in Saraswati Nagar.

There is a main Masjid(mosque) on the main road and another Masjid opposite Hyundai car show room.

Transport

Numerous buses of TSRTC frequently service L.B.Nagar, linking it with the city and surrounding suburbs. It is also a major stop and pick up point for long distance buses to Chennai, Vijayawada, Rajamundry, Guntur, Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Suryapet and Khammam. The closest MMTS Train station is at Malakpet. L.B.Nagar is the origination point of the Hyderabad Metro route to Miyapur.
