Mariahu( Mariyahu) (Hindi: मड़ियाहूँ) is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jaunpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the six Tahsil's of Jaunpur District. Other five are Jaunpur city, Shahganj, Machalishahar, Badlapur and Kerakat.
Geography
Mariyahu is located at 25°37′N 82°37′E / 25.62°N 82.62°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 87 metres (285 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Mariahu had a population of 20,142. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. In Mariahu, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Most of the young population of Mariyahu migrates towards big metro cities of India especially Mumbai for the purpose of higher education and employment.

Mariahu has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 50%. Mariahu has 'Mariahu PG college' and 'Kaushilya Mahavidyalaya' and 'Shri Dawarika Shikshan Sansthan' Mariahu Jaunpur.for higher education.Mariahu has Saint Xavier School for secondary education.

Mariahu is an OBC Dominated constituency. Deciding factor in any election here is Yadav and Patel votes. Shraddha Yadav of Samajwadi Party (SP) is a sitting MLA of Mariahu constituency. Shraddha defeated her immediate rival Savitri Patel of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by a margin of 12477 in 2012 Assembly election.
Festivals
The biggest celebrations in Mariahu are Durga Pooja & Bharat Milap as yearly festival. Pupils also organise big celebrations on Eid-ul-Fitr, Holi, Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and more other occasions.
