Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov was established by the government of Uzbekistan, as the branch of Moscow State University in Russian Federation. There are two areas in which university focuses on which are psychology and computer science.
About
Moscow State University in Tashkent (MSUT) named for M. V. Lomonosov (Mikhail Lomonosov), was first established in the year of 2006 on 24 February, by the edict number PE-290 ("About organizing and creating the branch of Moscow State National University named for M. V. Lomonosov in Tashkent) of President of Republic Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. The main purpose of the Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov is training and upbringing high qualified specialists and professionals by the high standards of Moscow State University (Moscow), and by international standards. Also, by target and goals of National education system of Republic Uzbekistan. Performance in Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov is carried out according to the legislation of Republic Uzbekistan and Russian Federation. Admission procedure and attestation is fully held by the obligations which are set in Moscow State University. Education process, educational programs and educational materials are also approved and held on right obligations set by the Moscow State University named for M. V. Lomonosov. By the end of studies all of the graduated students are granted with diploma by Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov which is recognized as the document verifying higher education completement in Republic Uzbekistan. Nowadays, there are two faculties at Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov which are "Faculty of Psychology" and "Faculty of analytical mathematics and computer science". Overall, 230 are currently involved with studies at MSUT. Students are divided into two categories, the first who study on contract basis and they are 60 percent of all students at MSUT, the second category students are those who are granted with Sate Grants and they are estimated to be 40 percent of overall number of students. Students are mainly taught by the professors who come from Moscow State University in Russian Federation, and by teaching plans provided by Moscow State University. But also, there are some local teachers who have graduated from Russian Universities.[1]
Campus
Campus of Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov is located in Tashkent city, and is defined to have one of the biggest recourse centers among Uzbek universities. Information-recourse center at MSUT has the capacitance of about 8,684 thousand textbooks, books, magazines and many other materials related to the studies at the university. Information-recourse center does not only exist of books, but also there is e-library, multimedia studio and video conference hall. After class times are finished the students spend their time watching video lectures about the related subjects at information-recourse center. Video conference hall is mainly used by the students in order to have life video lectures which are given in Moscow. In addition to this, there is 220 people hall at the campus which provides opportunity to hold any big lections and events. There are big chances at MSUT for students to get engaged with sports in their free time, as there is big winter sports center inside the campus, which has seats for watchers, sport complex located outdoors with 3 tennis courts, two volleyball pitches and one track for basketball. Meanwhile, for assisting the students as much as possible, MSUT has opened polygraph center inside the campus, which helps the students to deal up with their tasks in a short period of time. There is the medical center in campus, which is one of the main parts of the building. Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov has its own hotel with 10 rooms, which are mainly used by teachers which are called to give lectures at branch of Moscow State University named for M. V. Lomonosov in Taskent city.[2]
Honorable achievements
Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov is one of the youngest universities in Uzbekistan. However, there are some honorable achievements which are reached by the MSUT. The most recognizable progress reached by MSUT is winning of the grant in the second part of the year 2007, on theme "Creation of mechanisms which provide people in their adolescent ages with psychological wellbeing in Uzbekistan". The program is won by the team of doctor of psychological sciences and professor of MSUT "Faculty of psychology", Bazarov T.Yu. The program started its realization from September 2007, and the team consists of Podolski A. I (doctor of psychological sciences, professor at MSUT), Gipenreyter Yu.B (doctor of psychological sciences, professor at MSUT), Ajundjanova S.A (candidate of psychological sciences, docent at MSUT), Usmanova E.Z (candidate of psychological sciences, docent at MSUT) and students of "Faculty of psychology" at MSUT.
Mission and objectives of the university
As the other universities of the world, Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov has also set its main missions and objectives which are set in official documentation of the university, which are listed below:
- Training of high qualified specialist with academic levels, who can solve problems in their own branch of science with combining their theoretical knowledge and scientific researches
- Integration of academic and university sciences by usage of scientific and educational potential power of MSUT. Call talented people to the scientific researches
- Work with international institutions to develop professionals in their scientific branches and attend in world-cultural processes
- Enlarge the mutual cooperation among the Uzbek, Russians and also international specialists to train fully developed employees
- Developing of textbooks and other educational materials
- Re-training and enlarging the knowledge and qualification of professors and teachers by new branches of studies and professions
- Organize the printing procedures to print out scientific works and spread them[3]
Faculties
Currently, there are two faculties which are located at the Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov, and they provide the students with essential theoretical and practical knowledge, in order to become professionals on their fields. The first faculty is "Faculty of Psychology" and the second is "Faculty of Analytical Mathematics and Computer Science".
Faculty of Psychology
The main purpose of the "Faculty of Psychology" is training professionals who work and assist in fields of medical sciences, who solve difficult problems in controlling systems and who give their social help to citizens. The length of studies in this faculty is set to be five years, and the lessons are held only in Russian language. The educational procedure involves some general and professional subjects. At "Faculty of Psychology" there are 18 professional subjects which are listed below:

Faculty of Analytical Mathematics and Computer Science
Faculty of Analytical Mathematics and Computer Science is the main faculty at Moscow State University, and it pays its big attention in subjects of analytical mathematics, computer sciences and computer programming. Faculty was established in 2006, and the length of studies is set to be 4 years. All of the lessons are held in Russian language. Educational process is held by standard priorities, and main attention is given to developing computer science skills in students. After graduation students can work at academic institutions, universities, organs of government, banks, insurance companies, finance companies, consulting companies, national and international corporations which involve working with computer technologies. Controlling unit
Moscow State University in Tashkent named for M. V. Lomonosov is currently controlled by Mr.Valeriy Borisovich Kudryavtsev, who is the rector of the university. He is the academic and professor, doctor of mathematical sciences. Nosov Valentin Aleksandrovich and Bazarov Taxir Yusupovich are vice-rectors of the university.[5]
Examinations
In order to complete the admission procedure students must pass examinations which are approved by the Moscow State University, and which fully cover the needs of Uzbekistan's ministry of higher education. Interested applicants must provide needed documents and pass 3 examinations according to the faculty which they chose. "Faculty of Psychology" requires the passage of 3 examinations on general subjects which are:
- Mathematics (written examination)
- Biology (written examination)
- Russian language (written examination)
Interested applicants in "Faculty of Analytical Mathematics and Computer Science" must also pass three examinations on 3 general subjects which are:

- Informatics (written examination)
- Russian language (written examination)
Applicants who have completed the examination procedure are offered positions at the university as the students.[6]
