Summer Olympics appearances (overview)

Tuvalu competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's third consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics.

Tuvalu Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee sent the smallest delegation of any country to the Games, consisting of only one athlete: sprinter Etimoni Timuani in the men's 100 metres.[3]

Athletics

Tuvalu has received a universality slot from IAAF to send a male athlete to the Olympics.[1][4][5]

Etimoni Timuani competed in the men's 100 m as the only athlete from Tuvalu, the only NOC to send only one athlete to the 2016 Games.
