List of indoor arenas by capacity
The following is a list of indoor arenas ordered by capacity, that is the maximum number of spectators the arena can accommodate for a sports event. Currently all arenas with a capacity of 15,000 or more are included. Domed and retractable roof stadiums built for field sports that also host indoor events, such as the Carrier Dome (Syracuse, New York, USA) and Arena 92 (under construction in Nanterre, France), are not included. In addition, only the capacity for indoor sports, such as basketball, ice hockey, volleyball, etc. are included.
The list is divided into three sub-sections; current arenas, arenas under construction; and closed or arenas no longer used for sporting events.
