Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Mataram, commonly known as PSIM Yogyakarta, or PSIM, is a professional Indonesian football club based in Yogyakarta. They play in Liga Indonesia Premier Division. Their home stadium is Mandala Krida Stadium.

This club was founded on 5 September 1929 as Persatuan Sepakraga Mataram (PSM). Mataram name used because Yogyakarta is the administrative center of the kingdom of Mataram Sultanate ( Yogyakarta Sultanate ) . Then on July 27, 1930 the name was changed to PSIM as it is known today . One PSIM player who became a legend for Indonesian football is R. Maladi which is the keeper of the PSIM in the competition in 1931 .

PSIM is currently competing in the Indonesia Soccer Championship B 2016, with coach Seto Nurdiantoro . PSIM has a group of supporters called Brajamusti ( Brayat Jogja Mataram Utama Sejati ) . Individual PSIM actually already have the name of the fans / supporters of its own in 1989 was born PTLM ( Paguyuban Tresno Laskar Mataram ) which at that time in Indonesia still minimal bevy of football fans clubs in Indonesia.


PSIM history began on 5 September 1929 by the birth of a football organization, called the United Football Sports Mataram (Persatuan Sepakraga Mataram) or abbreviated PSM. The name Mataram was used because Yogyakarta is the administrative center of the Mataram Kingdom. Then on July 27, 1930 the name was changed to United Indonesian Football Mataram or shortened as a result of demands of the PSIM nationalist movement to achieve independence of Indonesia. On April 19, 1930, PSIM, together with VIJ Jakarta, Bandung BIVB, MIVB (now PPSM Magelang), MVB (PSM Makassar) SIVB (Persebaya Surabaya), VVB (Persis Solo) PSSI gave birth to the idea to participate in a meeting held in Yogyakarta Hadiprojo Societeit. The home match ground of PSIM is Mandala Krida Stadium, which has a capacity of 25,000 supporters.
