Rajapur is a town in Chitrakoot district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It has its nickname as "Tulsi Dhaam" after great Hindi poet Tulsidas who is the writer of holy "Ram Charit Manas" a religious book of Hindus. There is a temple devoted to Tulsidas where the original Scripture of Ramcharitmanas is still available .
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Rajapur had a population of 12,728. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Rajapur has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 55%. In Rajapur, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.
