Ramkola is a town and a nagar panchayat in Kushinagar district which is also known as Padrauna district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is known for its sugar factory,temple and old vegetables market.
Geography
Ramkola is located at 26°54′N 83°50′E / 26.9°N 83.84°E.[1] It has an average elevation Tekuatar of 75 metres (246 feet) It is situated on the Gorakhpur-Kaptanganj-Laxmiganj-Padarauna and linking railway line.
There are two sugar mills in Ramkola (1) Uttar Pradesh sugar cop. (Also known as Khetan Mill) (2) Triveni or Gangeshwer limited (Also known as Punjab Mill); however, First has been sold to a construction company. The second one, Gangeshwer limited is still running.
Vishva Darshan Temple is in Ramkola and contains idols of almost all of the saints and great philosophers from all over the world.The temple is built by great saint Swami Bhagwananand Ji Mahraj in the respect of his guru ji Swami Paramhans Ji.
This place is the birthplace of great saint Swami Parmanand Ji Mahraj (Paramhans Ji) of Anusuiya Ashram, Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. because of which Ramkola is known as Ramkola Dham.
In Ramkola, there are two inter college for HSC education (Janta Inter College and Saraswati vidya mandir Inter College).
Demographics
As reported in the 2011 India census, Ramkola had a population of 14,433. Males constituted 53% of the population, and females 47%. Ramkola had an average literacy rate of 69%, lower than the national average of 74%.
