The Shreveport-Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area is a metropolitan area in northwestern Louisiana that covers four parishes: Caddo, Bossier, Webster, and De Soto.[1] As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population of 439,000 (though a July 1, 2012 estimate placed the population at 447,000).[2]

The median income for a household in the MSA was $32,974, and the median income for a family was $39,203. Males had a median income of $35,583 versus $31,848 for females. The per capita income for the MSA was $16,521.

National Guard

Shreveport is the home of the 2-108th Cavalry Squadron which is part of the 256th Infantry Brigade.
