Achenheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in northeastern France.
History
The oldest human remains in Alsace, dating from the Paleolithic era, were found at Achenheim. The village was burnt down by the people of Strasbourg in 1262, during a war with Bishop Walter von Geroldseck. [1]
Geography
Achenheim is a village in the Bas-Rhin district of Strasbourg and in the township of Mundolsheim, near the Canal de la Bruche and the departmental road from Flexbourg to Strasbourg.
