Changsha–Zhuzhou–Xiangtan Intercity Rail, also known as Tan Intercity Line, Tan Intercity Railway, is a high-speed railway in Hunan, China. It will connect the provincial capital Changsha with Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. The line has been approved through the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments and is currently under construction and expected to open to traffic operations in the second half of 2015. The maximum operating speed is expected to be up to 200 km/h, travelling time between the three cities will be shortened to less than 30 minutes.

Overview

Changsha–Zhuzhou–Xiangtan Intercity Rail is hoped to promote the Changsha–Zhuzhou–Xiangtan City Cluster regional economic integration and improve social links. Originally proposed as the Changsha–Zhuzhou–Xiangtan Light Rail Plan, after the adoption of amendments, it was optimized as a high-speed intercity rail program. Guangzhou Railway Group, the Hunan Development and Investment Group, the Ministry of Railways and the Hunan provincial government jointly established the "Hunan Intercity Railway Co", which is responsible for the construction and operation of this project. The first phase, with a total length of 96 km, with Changsha Railway Station as the center of convergence from Zhuzhou, Xiangtan and long Chassi. It will be funded with a total investment of 23.3 billion yuan. It will be built as a double tracked electrified railway with a maximum design speed of 200 km/h, using automatic block control. This line is positioned as an Intercity passenger line, recently Changsha long Chassi (Lei Feng Avenue) bus logarithm 60 pairs; Changsha, Zhuzhou bus logarithm 56 pairs; Changsha-Xiangtan bus with 56 on right.

Stations

This intercity railway travels across Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. It is built hoping to improve intercity passenger movements and intregrate with each city's local commuter transport (especially in Changsha City, Changsha Metro network transfers). A total of 21 stations will be built across the board, including 12 in Changsha, Zhuzhou with five and Xiangtan has four.

The intercity rail project will cross Changsha's Furong, Yuhua, Tianxin, Kaifu, Yuelu Districts and Changsha County, totaling about 2,500 acres of land acquisition. Twelve stations will be built in Changsha, including eight underground stations and four stations at ground level.[1]
