São João Baptista is a freguesia (civil parish) of Cape Verde. It covers the larger, southern part of the municipality of Porto Novo, on the island of Santo Antão. Its current president (similar to mayor) is Rosa Rocha, one of the first female heads of any municipality in Cape Verde.
The football (soccer) club based in the parish is Lajedos and is the club for the southcentral portion of the island.
