The Charminar Express is a very popular train operating between the metropolitan cities, Chennai and Hyderabad

Charminar is one of the most prestigious trains of SCR, with 24 coaches(first 24 Coacher of SCR).
- Train Number 12759 runs from Chennai[1] to Hyderabad. It departs from Chennai Central(MAS) at 18.10 Hrs and arrives at Hyderabad Deccan(HYB) at 08.00 Hrs the next day, with 15 halts in between.
- Train Number 12760 runs from Hyderabad[2] to Chennai. It departs from Hyderabad Deccan(HYB) at 18.30 Hrs and arrives at Chennai Central(MAS) at 08.15 Hrs next day.

The train is a 24 coach rake. It has one 1AC/2AC combo, two 2AC, two 3AC, 14 sleeper, 3 general and 2 SLR coaches. Hence forming a 24 coach train. The regular Link of Charminar Express is a LGD WAP4 / WAP 7. Moreover, Charminar Express is one of the few trains of the country having CBC ( Centre Buffer Coupling ) rakes with GPS system. Also the first train to become a CBC. And first 24 coacher of SCR.
Relevance
This train is named after Charminar, an historical monument in Hyderabad built to mark the victory against the plague epidemic that haunted Hyderabad in the 15th Century."Char minar" refers to the four minarets of the monument on the top.
